Been waiting all winter, skiied a couple months and now the lakes are drying up!!!
Please keep posting the pics of your boats on the water, it's the only thing keeping us going down here!! Sorry, just had to vent, can't even launch the boat and until we get some rain, it's not gonna be much better...

Bummer...sorry to hear that. Mother nature just likes to keep us guessing. Hope you get that rain and soon.

tj, What part of the country are you in? Our lakes in the upper Midwest (northern Wisconsin) were very low when the ice went out but we have had so much rain in the past couple weeks that they are back to normal. Need to borrow some?

8122, Alabama. The good news was that it was hot enough to ski the 1st of March. Bad news is that it is even hotter now and has been declared drought conditions. Our lake is down over 3 feet, which is drastic for us and we are at about a 20" deficit for the year...Guess I'm just whining...so I'll just have to go get some more wine...Will take any rain you send our way!

I would probably still be living in Virginia if the droughts down there about 5 years ago hadn't rendered all the lakes unusable, lots of time for a job search when your stuck on dry land...

We sometimes get TOO MUCH water up here. If one lake doesn't have enough water you just go across the street.

TJ, I've been up to Smith Lake 3 weekends already since end of April. Plenty of water there. Freemanca says that his place near Pell City is really low right now. You guys need to take a 45 minute drive to Jasper. Don't worry about the unfamiliar water. Average is 160 ft deep all around and crystal clear. (right now it is 3 ft below full pool, so the average is now 157 ft deep) I'll tell you where to put in if you want to know.
