Well I just got back from a much needed week vacation at the lake. The only problem was the group who took the same week. They had rented cabins 4 lakes over from my house but they insisted on boating in my little bay all day and all week. I by no means mind people boating in front of my house but this group had a 26' Sea Ray Sun Deck loaded with 12 to 15 people and did nothing but TUBE all week. I couldn't sit on my dock because their wake was coming over the top. The first day they swamped my little 14' fishing boat so I had to tie it bow out. I couldn't even park the Tique or Atom at the dock because the bumpers would ride up on the dock. The only break I would get was when they would make a run for gas.
Well besides that one gripe, it was fun.
Now I need to get everything ready for the reunion. I'm ready for a great weekend.

I know how you feel. If I survive long enough to retire from the military I am going to buy enough land to build my own water ski lake. Probably dig it myself with a shovel - but I'll never have to complain again.

call the DNR next time I'm sure they where running to close to shore anyway. Sorry to hear you had a rough time when your trying to relax, well it should be better at GL but then it does get a little choppy if it's windy.

Pete,

I feel your pain. I know when we're not skiing we always go to areas of the lake that are away from skiers to tube.

As much as tubers, the water mosquitoes really mess up some good water.

I'm with Ski Bum, we need more lakes for skiing!

My wife who spends the summers up there I think has a bilt in tape measure in her eyes! Most of the time, she has the cordless phone with her at the dock I think just so she can call the DNR! In this case, the group were carefull about maintaining the 100'.
