Hello,
Been searching, haven't found any info on replacement hubs for my correct craft trailer (78 SkiTique). It is a 1978, not sure what model. It is a 5 lug and I think it is 5x4 1/2. What is the correct way to measure? Better yet, anyone have a supplier and part number?

Follow-up question: studs vs lug bolts. the original has the bolts. My gut is to go with the hub with the studs. Thoughts?

I'm not a big fan of the lug bolts and would go with the other option.
All you need to do is pull off one hub. Measure the o.d. of the spindle where the outer bearing rides and where the inner bearing rides then match up the bolt pattern of the lug or buy new rims that match the hub you buy. Which you can get about anywhere, tractor supply, wal-mart, local trailer supply, NAPA, auto parts store.
so with a wild guess I would say it's going to be a 1-1/4" x 3/4" hub with a 5 lug x 4.5' diameter. They are pretty much standardized across the board.

Mike, You may want to consider hubs with the built in lube system so then you wouldn't need to put bearing buddy's on them.

Chris check you measurments on that again, never heard of the size you quoted.
1250 lb.hubs 1-1/16 x 1
1350 lb.hubs 1-1/8 x1-1/16
these are the most common 5 lug hubs on the market today...........boat dr

I just did my hubs on my '78 trailer. I think that it was a UHI 5-stud hub. The bearings were 1 1/16" and 1 3/8". That matches with the 1750 lbs hubs I see. The best thing to do is to pull the hub off and take it to a local shop that does trailers. Are you sure you need a new hub? Can't you just do the bearings?
When I replaced mine, I think they were original. They looked high quality and were marked Japan. Every replacement I found was marked China. There was no wear on the originals and I probably didn't need to change them but there were out so....

Here is the list of what I picked up, in case anyone else needs the info:
2 Dexter hubs - 8-248 MTA 8; 3.5K; 5x4.5 in.
2 Outside bearings - L44646
2 Inside bearings - l68149 (#84 spindles)
2 Grease seals - GS1719; 2.56 in. OD EZ Lube #10-19
2 Axle washers, tongue type - 1 in. ID
10 lug nuts - 1/2 in. cone shape (RG01060)
For just under $120, I have everything I need to swap out to a stud/lug nut set up. Except grease.
