HOW DO I TELL IF I HAVE THE ORIGINAL ENGINE IN MY 1975 18' "SOUTHWIND" ? WHERE CAN I GET ENGINE SPECS?

First, I'd call Correct Craft in Orlando and give them the hull number. They should at least be able to tell you what size and make engine went in your boat. Maybe the serial number as well. Otherwise if you have the serial number tag still on the engine somewhere, go to the manufacturer if they're still in business if you can't decipher it to determine the year model. If your serial number year matches the boat year then I'd say it's original, however the short and or long block could have been changed at some time. It's not uncommon for an inboard engine's serial number to reveal that it's a year older than the hull. For almost any engine CC used during that period the manuals are still available. What engine do you have?

i'll check the numbers. i think its chevy V8 because of the distributor location. it has performer intake manifold on it now.
