Here are a few pics from our trip to Silver Lake Michigan a few weeks ago. Spent a long weekend at an Uncle's house, boat is docked in the canal behind his house. Very scenic lake with great views from the top of the dunes if you care to climb. Not much of a skiing lake, too busy, but a great place none the less.

The canals pretty shalow and gets overgrown but the lake itself is pristine.

I gotta say it again...what a great looking boat....and your crew rivals the crew that Paul has on his red boat.

OK, how bout THAT place for a reunion?! I've never seen or been to anyplace like that. I could just see 50 CC's beached one after the other. How warm/cold was the water? After an entire week of 100 degree days, our lake temp has surpassed 90 degrees.

Reid, Off the water it's a little cheese touristy, mini golf and go karts and nothing like the Goose Blind.   On the water it's all jet skis and tubes and just gets crazy. They have a counter-clockwise traffic pattern that the sheriff has taken an oath to uphold, he's a pain....   The best thing to do all day is pull over on the beach and relax while the kids climb the dunes. Once you get to the top of the dunes you overlook Lake Michigan. Nice place though, we hold our family reunion there every summer and I enjoy yhte trip

PS.We were out on the Illinois river saturday and the water was so warm we had to get back in the boat to cool off.

Steve, We went to Rockford to Watch the Show Ski Div 1 yesterday, Water level was lower than I expected after all the rain.

Hey John, Sorry I missed down at Reids. The crew is looking good. I'm about ready to put a shotgun under the rear seat of the 81 cause my "little girl" is really drawing the looks now .   This was an interesting weekend as I also had my sister in law and niece with us so I was the token male. 2 Women, 3 teenage girls all of us stuffed in the Bounder. Our family reunion is no booze, needless to say I walked the dog back to the camper for some liquid courage quite a few times.

Great pictures Alan.

We camp at Silver Lake every year. We only go on weekdays before Memorial Day or after Labor Day. It's much less crowded then. And most of the cheesy tourist stuff is closed.

I hear weekend after Labor day it's a ghost town. Very short season since it's up so far north.

How good was the skiing in Rockford? There is nothing like the shows at the Div l level. Did you see Wonder Lake do the prebuilt pyramid hot pick up? How crazy was that?

I should have known it was too good to be true, but the water and the sand, and fresh water at that, looks really neat.

I haven't been there in over 30 yrs,a guy I used to work with family had a cottage on the lake. It's the only place around here that you can drive out on the dunes I believe.I think that has helped crowd it up,as there didn't seem to be anything else around.

that place looks way cool, I want to go there, you guys are living the life man , if that boat could talk I bet it would have some great storys to tell, I hope your kids know how lucky they are!

reid..wow..90 degrees, thats hotter then my lake! its about 87 right now and feels like a bath tub, but I bet you dont have the threat of Ameaba like we do down here, a 10 year old boy just died from it about two weeks ago it was really sad, and most people wont let ther kids swim.. thats another reason why the sandbar sucks right now!

Phatsat, Thanks, aren't you in the midwest, you should get to Green lake next year.

Jbear, Daughters in the middle, her friend from back east is on the back, stayed with us for a week this summer. 2 really great kids.

MM, People run down them on the skimmers all the time. The kids run up and down the dunes all day, I make it to the top once and my hearts ready to explode. The thing I think you'd like is that there is a state park that allows dune buggy's on about half of the dunes. You can rent jeeps and buggys and go crazy. I've seen license plates from as far away as Florida up here. There are some wild buggys out there.

I rented a sandboard a few years ago, kinda like a plastic snowboard. To my dismay it only went in one direction... STRAIGHT DOWN!!! I was going crazy fast then noticed that the bottom of the hill did not have a smooth run out, rather an abrupt change in transition. I wiped out like no tomorrow. Lucky I didn't break my neck. My family was torn between laughing their butts off, and genuine concern for my well being. Fun stuff.

You are mistaken old wise one that sleeps in the rain, the toothless ones are sent North to the feed lots, then kept there to keep you a**holes warm .
We only keep the select few that meet our strict standards, look thru the pics of the Southern girls that were there. No fatties, nor sub standard babes, and all of them can ski and load and unload a boat.Mine can do all the above, plus is very knowledgeable as to the inside working of a boat, the motor and she can change a flat on a car ,truck or a boat trailer........boat dr/boat nurse

hollywood, please read and view above pics. This is what normal Southern Girls look like.
I guess you did not look around as to the size and appearance of the women at Green Lake.
As Pete said ,must be the butter fat in all the cheese and milk. This combined with the long winter nights and the too short ski season.........nuf sed......boat dr

That is why there is a river between us and them, most fat people cant swim. And if they float they will wind up in the Gulf.
As far as the Mo-Peds, fat chicks ain't my cup of tea, look at Karen,110 with socks and shoes.........
I saw the same survey, must have been taken in the major citys, would be hard pressed to find any here.Climbing off and on tractors,18 wheelers to haul to the grain elevaters, chasing horses, cows, and taking care of the farm means you burn more calories than you consume. This = lean firm Southern Girls. Not the fat bitches that live in trailer parks and milk the welfare system............boat dr

I have not been to the dunes with the truck in a couple years. I might have to see about going next summer. We usually camp at Ludington but the rangers got to be pretty big buttheads so we quite going. If your going to be up there might be a fun week end trip.
