I was browsing for old ski boats the other nite and I came across this 83 stars and stripes with the rare 440 Chrysler option Goood god. That boat would scream. Im a huge mopar fan and that would just be awsome to have a ski boat with a big block chrysler especially a 440. Just thought you all might like to take a look even though its a mastercrap.

Jesus, have another beer 79, The George Jetson space pod dashboard (ugly as hell)came out in 83-84 so the years probably right and it has no wood stringers to worry about. The boat should pull some decent money.
I might even place a bid and bring it to Green lake next year

Coming from a used car salesman I would expect that you where full of sh*t and don't know what the fuc your talking about. So what it's got a big block Mopar so does Marshal's and his looks way better than that POS and is a CC as well.
Your so Fuc'n stupid you don't even know what a stars and stripes model is jack ass, just because it has stars down the side doesn't mean sh*t they all did in that era dumb ass. A stars and stripes is a special red, white and blue model from the 70's so go fuc yourself clown, talk about something that you know because you sure as hell don't know much making the comment that you did.

Maybe Zach should have said, "...really neat and rare 440 Mopor in a brand X boat," and then the focus would have been on the engine. And we would be talking about buying a cool engine which came with an portajohn to go with the Correct Craft bar someone was building. Remember that amusing thread?

Nate, I don't know if Chris's spelling was intentional. We all know he isn't the greatest speller. Of coarse nether am I!! The only other thing I can say is, that no matter how he spells something, he does get his point across to people.

Well I assumed that since I posted that I noticed the boat for the motor and not the fact that it was a MC everyone would have been ok with it. But whatever. I have a correct craft thats why im here. I havent seen 79 telling the new guy to f**k off with the centruy thats surprising. Anyways Ill go enjoy a nice slalom set behind a correct craft a little later on, and tomorow. Ill just stop posting anything since im such a retard. Damn I wish someone would have pointed out the fact that I was so retarted in the first place so then I could have skipped all the boating and college and life in general and just went right into a special needs home somewhere.

Zach, If you don't blow a gasket over Chris and the opinions that he throws around, you will find he is a SUPER GUY.
You should read some the previous posts that include a word of profanity or two from him to boat dr.Was not a good thing.
Then there is a pic or two at Green Lake with BOTH of us working together on a boat. This my boy is what the purpose of this site is all about, shareing and caring.
Go cool off with a couple of sets, drink a few cold ones and keep posting , we gotta have someone to razz. And this week it was you.

I have been watching this thread - and I have been reluctant to join in, but here goes:
Billy (boat dr) - I was with you right up until that last line (thought I was hearing dueling banjos...lol)
Anyway, I happen to have come into possesion of a 1979 MasterCraft 190 Skier that has the Stars and Stripes motif. The boat is light blue with dark blue metalflake accent, and red stripes. I counted 39 stars between the hull, doghouse and backrest.
The title lists the model as a 190 Stars and Stripes Skier. I called MC, gave them them the HIN - they said "Oh, you have a blue 1979 Stars and Stripes". I posted on the MC site asking what I had, they told me I have a blue 1979 Stars and Stripes.
What do I know? Probably less than the guys here, at MC and at the MC site. I also know I like my 78 SkiTique better than the 79 MC - but it is still a cool-ass boat.
And it is a Stars and Stripes.
Mike

no one ever accused the mastercraft guys of being overly bright and just because they all call them stars and stripes editions because the have stars down the side which they all did in the begining doesn't mean it's the real deal.
Guess you had to be old enough and actually seen and ridin in the real deal to know the difference, When I was growing up they where always called pro stars and still had the stars and stripe graphics but where never called stars and stripes editions. That was for the special edition they did for one year and one year only marking the bi-centinial year of 1976.
I'll see if my freind Beth still has a picture of our buddies boat that was the real deal.

Anyways catch you all later.

Not that it matters, and I'm certainly not an expert regarding MC, however . . .
I don't know the first year MC put stars on its boats. The orginal in 68 was a solid redish hull with a white deck. Sometime in the early 70s, MC had a red, white, and blue stars and stripes motif. I believe this is the "real stars and stripes" of which 79 nautique refers. It was a popular color configuration at that time (Evel Knievel used a similar motif on his motorcycles and jumpsuits). Mastercraft continued to use the stars on its boats through 1985. The official name of these boats was "Skier" or "Tournament Skier" however, most people then and now continue to refer to MCs through 1985 as "stars and stripes."
MC has continued to use the Star motif on its special edition boats including its 25th anniversary edition (93), 30th (98), and 35th (2003). The 93 anniversary edition physically says "Stars and Stripes" on its side.
The first MC model known as "Prostar" was in 1987.

LOL. I can't believe I'm laughing at this thread. Well put Lefty.
79, I agree! I say we protest any mention of any MC on this site. As a first step, anyone who also owns a MC, please post your final post within the next 24 hours. If you don't own one now, but used to own one, you have 48 hours. If you've ever admired one, 72 hours.
Now, let's all go over to Stang's house and toilet paper his Stars and Stripes (oops, it's an '84 or '85).
You guys have to admit that in the late '70's and early '80's you loved the look of that boat.

I think there may be a real stars and stripes on my lake. Its red with flake and stars. It has the older one piece rounded style windshield which means its probably an older model. It looks good from a distance but up close its quite a piece of work.
