I didnt get any pictures yet, but its a light blue left hand drive, split seating, and the name on the dash is Comander. It doesnt have a speedometer anywhere that I saw, but it does have the pole and eye center mount in the boat. I dont know the engine right now, but its center mount, with prop and rudder on the back, Fiberglass hull, looks about 21 or 22 feet long. One piece windsheild that wraps around, and swim step on the back. I only looked at the boat for about five minutes, and its for sale, so I will be stopping back down there soon for pictures, and contact information. I was on a date, new chick, and she didnt have a smile on her face as I checked it out. Anyhow, think about it, I have to get off of here cause she is doing my dishes right now, and I told her I was using the restroom!!

One more thing, its probably early seventies in my observation, not likely, but possible late sixties.

Ok, I am out of here...

There has been a Commander inboard ski boat on Craigslist in California over the last several months. I just did a search and apparently it is no longer listed. This particular Commander looked to be kind of a copy of an 80s model Ski Nautique. Long winded way of saying, not much help. BKH

Typically, guys would be asking for pictures of the boat AND the new chick. But if she wasn't happy with you checking out a classic boat, dump her, buy a dishwasher, and just send pictures of the boat.

I think it has great lines except for the thru hull fitting in the first pic...bad move on someone's part. Anyone else think the stern looks mismatched? The boat has smooth curves with a good finish, the stern is square with a possible homemade bracket on the swimdeck. Maybe shoved into the weeds on purpose?!!?

This is a 1964-65 Starcraft. The owner posted it on Craigslist several weeks ago without a price or phone number. I replied to the ad, but never heard back. They were built in the Seattle area in the early 60's. I saw a restored one at Lake Washington several weeks ago. Cool looking boat on the water. Let me know what you find out about it after you talk with the owner!

maybe you need to look at your boat and you'll see it has the same bilge discharge location as your complaining about. Know my 79 was in the same location as the one pictured.

I think this is a very cool lookin' boat. I have to disagree with BuffaloBFN about the stern though. Yes it looks like it's square below the waterline, but above the waterline it looks like it's angled very similar to the '90-'96 SN. The swim platform also appears to be molded fiberglass or at least some type material that has an aluminum bumper or edge strip that wraps around the gunnels toward the bow. That platform support almost has to be factory if the platform is molded around the transom at it appears. It looks like it's in really restorable shape too. Would be neat to see what motor is there. That's awesome.

Something makes me think the engine is an Interceptor Ford. I'm either psychic or maybe it was the tach. I'll bet a 289 or a 312. But if the boat is 20-21', then it might be a 352 or 390, or maybe even a 427!!. I'm hopping a plane.

It was in the same place on my '79, but the nautique design doesn't have the fitting 'front and center'...it's more out of the way under the curve of the bow. My bfn doesn't have any fittings forward of the stern.

That is a really slick looking boat. I think it is far too minimalist (dash and controls) for a large manufacturer. But FINS already ID'd it as a smaller, regional manufacturer.

The lines look like a fiberglass version of a Riva to me.

The interior looks nice, but I wouldn't expect that design if the boat is from the mid '60s. I'd guess that was redone and deviated from original.

Any news on this one? I'd like to know what is under the doghouse.

Well I called to find out about the boat, and it was sold a week ago. It was a 1964 Starfire, and the lady wasnt sure of the history, but said her husband knew, and it sold for around $3000.00, in non running condition. She told me its built around the puget sound, but I still can not find any around here.

Thats all I have, if anyone finds more information, let me know. Fins, if you know more about these boats, send a link or something.

Well, it being a 1964, I can safely say that it has the 312 Interceptor in it with the side draft Carters from the looks of the height of the dog house.

I had never heard of one either until I saw the one launch at Lake Washington and talked to the owner. I have a few pictures of that one. It also had a small block Ford direct drive setup. It was less than 2 weeks later that this one came up for sale. I am glad that it sold for the amount it did. If you would have said it sold for $300 I would still be kicking myself for not calling!! I will try and find some more information about it.

I was disappointed it sold, but glad at the same time. Just happy it went for 3K also. So you dont know who picked that boat up fins? If I had been in town a little more, I might have, as I was drawn to go look at it more.
