I was looking up the year of the Hacker that Lake Geneva uses as a water patrol boat for the other post and ran across this picture. It is the author of the "Grand and Glorious" in his boat and a Grumman Albatross seaplane. The photo is a reinactment of a old race between I believe Gar Wood who in the 20's was doing a lot of racing with his boats. He had challenged a seaplane to a race. I don't think he won!

The book "Grand and Glorious" is about all the classic old boats on Lake Geneva Wis. Very interesting to see these boats! BIG old money on the lake and plenty of BIG old boats!

I wonder how Barney handles seaplanes on Green Lake?? I think a 185 on floats would bust his meter!!

Pete,

Barney will need to finish with this before he can chase that:

Love the Albatross. Such a classic looking seaplane. I've spent a few hours having Margaritas next to Jimmy Buffett's Albatross at Universal Orlando, where you can walk right up to it.

Bongs. Really loud, auto-lighting bongs. That boat is actually louder than the blue boat that Barney busted Marshall in. So it'd better stay home next year 'cause of the excessive noise AND smell.

Funny you should mention the Albatross, was looking at a boating mag, that someone brought into work. A new one can be had for a cool million, price was reduced from 1.3 mill.

Reid, If your pumping out bong residue from that 8 chamber, toke monster, then definitely bring the classic.. Barney and Deputy dog could be high all day while we take our loud boat out haha..

They were slow to get moving and would be more so with a sea anchor(s)...and I think the prop wash would would be an ongoing faceplant!

I want a small one someday...
