Wow Pete, I didn't expect that anybody still made them.
What do you think about drilling holes in the dash for them? The Mustangs have a plate with the guages and switch, but there is no room for additional switches. I'm thinking about drilling 2 holes and installing somewhere between the wheel and the plate. My partners, (my sons), don't want me drilling holes, but I don't see any alternative. |

Bruce, That's a really tough call. I of coarse would like to say keep it original but then if you must for safety put the blower and bilge pump in then you do need the switches. If you rationalize the originality, you can always say that a marina would have put the pull switches in the dash. A couple thoughts: Nether my 54 or my 64 have blowers and even when I start the 77, I just lift the dog house and smell! It's a lot safer plus what would happen if your hose from the blower fell off and you weren't blowing! The point I'm trying to make is do you really need the blower? Bilge pump? I can't remember the last time I used the pump in my boats! I of coarse do hang or put the boats in a lift so if needed, the bilge plugs are pulled. It gets more water out anyway! You could mount a metal bracket attached to the back of the dash extending below the dash if you have room. Them you wouldn't have to drill through the dash. Just a thought.

Bruce, I installed a bilge blower and pump in my 64. I bought switches from NAPA and used some old metal knobs from a parted-out boat on them. I did have to re-tap the threads on the switch.. I drilled them thru my dash,but its all 'glass, so no big deal. 
Excuse the pic, but I think it looks pretty good. Steve, I think those swithces look good. I've got plenty of room to put mine in a spot where they'd look original. I need a bildge pump because I moor my boats. I like a blower for the safety while putting.
Our Barracuda did not have a blower. It had a bildge pump that the PO installed and put the switch on the engine. The sell sheets don't even list a bildge pump or blower as options back in 1967.

Looks good... Im with you on the blower and pump, pretty much a necessity in my book also. My 64 had mis-matched modern/plasic toggle switches when I got it. Couldnt wait to get "era-looking" switches in her. Hey,is the glass on your wings both the same shape?
