Hi...I'm in the process of cleaning up my 1975 skier. The air scoops are covered with a vinyl type material and I haven't been very successful getting them to shine. Any suggestions? Thanks

Mike, 75 seems to be a year of transition on scoops. Pictures show the hard fiberglass scoops that CC made but the pictures aren't always correct! From your description, it sounds like you have the "upholstered" scoops. CC used the same vinyl that they used on the seats in the boat. That vinyl was never what I would call a high gloss. Do you have these upholstered scoops?

Thanks for getting back. Yes I have the upholstered scoops. I have seen pictures of my boat on this site and in the pictures the scoops look shiny. Just wondering what other's experiences have been. Mike

Mike, The vinyl may have lost some of it's gloss over time from UV exposure. If you reupholster the boat, that would be the time to do the scoops too. I don't feel there is any vinyl care product that will make them really shine.

303 will give the vinyl a nice shine, at least when its first applied.

303 is the brand. Ive actually started seeing it locally (though I cant remember where). I havent ordered any in a year or so, but http://www.autogeek.net/303aerprot.html - Autogeek used to have the best prices around. You want the Aerospace Protectant for vinyl. The fabric cleaner and fabric guard are great for sunbrella.
