A friend of mine is interested in this. Ravens don't bring money like a Lyman, but this looks really nice for the money. Pete, any words of caution if we go look at it?

Bruce, "too good to be true" may not be the key to this sale. The boat does look to very well maintained from the pictures. I think the low price is due to it not being one of the better known lap strakes such as Lyman like you mentioned but primarilly it is not a model that the typical person looking for a wood boat will go after. The seller may have a good idea of what the boat is worth and added 1K to that and that's his "buy it now price". The biggest things I would look for would be the tightness of the planking. Lap strakes do not require any soaking so the hull should be tight.

I don't believe so. I haven't heard from him since this morning. We were confused on the way the boat was listed for sale. It wasn't a normal ebay auction. It had a buy now price and a make an offer tab. The offers weren't listed. The seller accepted $6975, but had rejected $7500. That seems like a really good price for that boat.

That's a beauty. My buddy is starting a brewery and wants a boat like that to give beer drinking tours.
