Hey fellas- I'll be in Chicago early next week and would love meet up for a beer or two if anyone is game. Monday or Tuesday night? I'll be in the loop, but willing to take a train to a central location if anyone is up for it.
Name the spot.

If nobody is around Brad we can just stay down in the loop. My New Year's Resolution was to give up drinking but for a CCFan I'll make an exception.

My New Year's Resolution was to give up drinking

I am a block from Union Station on Jefferson between Adams and Jackson.

Quinner, HWood, sounds good. I'm working about a block away, in the 300 S. Riveside plaza-

Name the place and I'll be there. Monday or Tuesday after work (5:30ish) sound okay?

After work in Chicago is 3:30ish? Well for me anyways.

Let's see if any more of the local knucklehads chime in, there is a place on Clinton just N of Monroe, Rocco's, if it's in the city, close to both train stations and most times street parking as well.

Sure would be nice to meet you guy in person, share a few beers and laughs, but I know how it goes. Routines and schedules can be hard to break.

Quinner- Sounds like you're an early bird. If 5ish doesn't work for you, then maybe I could buy you a coffee at the Corner Bakery early in the morn.
lemme know.

Brad,

I can make whatever work either day, as another option we could always hop a train to Glenview (30 mins) and meet at the usual spot, the Glenview house, this could possibly make it easier for Pete, Mojo, PLBC, Alan, M3, etc.

What do you guy's think?

HW,

That line into Glenview is mine home, works well for me, trains go both ways (like you HW) until around midnight. 4:45, 5:12 or 5:25pm trains to Glenview from Union Station.

PS, Tuesday better for everyone?

HWood- sure, don't mind taking the train to hook up with more fans!

Assuming Glenview House:
Is that the Metra Milwaikee District North Line out of Union Station out to Glenview Metra stop?
46 mins according to CTA route planner.

That would put me out there realistically around 6ish.

Brad,

go to http://metrarail.com - Metra Rail site Milw Dist North Line.

I will meet you and we can ride out together.

I would say Glenview around 6pm depending on when you can leave your office, your only a couple minutes to the train walking, the entrance is right across the street by Corner Bakery.

Alan, Don't worry about having to quit early since I'll probably be on my way home before you. I get in to the plant at 3am so my normal bedtime is about 7:30!

Guys: It has been cold this past week...30's at nite...50's during the day. So cold in fact that me and Eddie did not ski Saturday. But we did put my new 540 on the boat and try it out.

Winter is over for us tho...temps in the 80's this week they say.

I think you are selling him short Brad. Mr. ReidP Jr will figure a way to get both of them out there.

Ha, I wish. I may have to bring the Skier, as the '90 would probably be ticketed for excessive noise.   Ill make a decision come springtime.

Actually, I may not be going at all if I cant find someone to make the drive with me!

Tim the offer is still open for a stop in Auburn NY along the way, I am sure someone in the New England crew is looking to do some traveling although Brad has a pretty good excuse.

As for the excessive noise ordinance, I am pulling the mufflers off for green lake this year just so I don't get left out. I figure thats just another level of competition, highest law enforcement measured noise level wins. Or slowest loud boat gets the ticket however the commmitee wants to play it ..

Brad,
Great to meet you last night, and again congrats on the inbound #2.. Your summer will be busy trying not to have both kid's heads rocket off the steering wheel LOL...

Travel safe going back East, an oh, and tell Tim not to worry, Quinner knows all the hookers downtown, he'll find one to drive out with him next summer hahaha...

Moj'
PS: Pete, Chris, Jonny, always good to drown some brain cells with you guys !!!

Joe, I fully intend to take you up your offer- thanks again. With Brad out of the mix, its time to start recruiting for a copilot!

I think the '90 would be the leading contender in the loudest/slowest category, assuming we're talking top end here. I take it youre bringing the '83 again? Or will the Mustang be ready?

Always good to throw back a couple with you guys. Brad, it was great to meet you, hopefully I'll get to visit the NE crew some time this year.

Brian, it's probably a good thing you weren't in this week...they were out of the BBQ chicken pizza, and I'm pretty sure that's the only good one they have.

Tim, you had better bring the 90- I'd love to get behind the wheel if the boat will forgive me for using Fram filters.

Sorry I missed the get-together but it was opening night for my bowling league.

Everytime I hear someone mention a bowling league I think of the Joe Walsh song "Ordinary Average Guy" (which was the name of the last bowling team I was on BTW). BKH

I'm just an ordinary average guy
My friends are all boring
And so am I
We're just ordinary average guys

We all live ordinary average lives
With average kids
And average wives
We all go bowling at the bowling lanes
Drink a few beers
Bowl a few frames
We're just ordinary average guys
Ordinary average guys

And every Saturday we work in the yard
Pick up the dog do
Hope that it's hard (whaf whaf)
Take out the garbage and clean out the garage
My friend's got a Chrysler
I've got a Dodge
We're just ordinary average guys
Ordinary average guys
