Has everyone forgotten that there is a pretty good team down in Indy. It is hard to believe that last years Super Bowl Champs are getting no love. With a much improved defense and everyone healthy I know where my money is (it is definitely not with the NFC).

My money (but not much of it) is on those Jags, mainly because of that big old East Carolina University QB, that ran all over the Steelers last week.
Don't feel bad Greg, our hometown Panthers can have some of the best players in the league, (remember them being preseason super bowl champ pict last year) and STILL SUCK. But I'm still a fan.

LOL!!! Nice one Aemmer!
No snow predicted for Saturday, but it should be pretty cold. I'll take the Pack straight up but not against the spread! What, the Packers by 8, 8-1/2 points. It will be good and I am a little worried. They are a bunch of young'uns, but they have been pretty charmed this year. Sometimes that is all you need....

Three quarterbacks, Manning, Romo and Tom Brady, go to heaven to visit God and watch the Celtics play a game. God decides who will sit next to him by asking the boys a question...
God asks Peyton Manning first: "What do you believe?" Peyton thinks long and hard, looks God in the eye, and says, "I believe in hard work, and in staying true to family and friends. I believe in giving. I was lucky,
but I always tried to do right by my fans." God can't help but see the essential goodness of Manning, and offers him a seat to his left.
Then God turns to Tony Romo and says, "What do you believe?" Tony says,"I believe passion, discipline, courage and honor are the fundamentals of life. I, too, have been lucky, but win or lose, I've always tried to be a true sportsman, both on and off the playing fields." God is greatly moved by Tony's sincere eloquence, and he offers
him a seat to his right.
Finally, God turns to Tom Brady: "And you, Tom, what do you believe?" Tom replies, "I believe you're in my seat."

I just started watching football when the Patriots got good about 6 years ago. I don't know anything about Belechich other than I like his attitude at press conferences, and he obviously knows how to put together a good team. Not to mention he lucked out having Brady on his team.
Watching the game last night, it appeared to me that both teams have a lot a respect for each other.

Don't worry you're still at the top of my list. Just ribbin you southern boys who get to enjoy all that warm weather! Mrs JB can send me the cleaning bill (belichick) .
Gotta admit MM, that's a pretty good team.
I've never been a super Brady disciple (a little too pretty boy for me), so if he needs to go, Garrard could step right in!
Ya gotta hand it to Belichich though, the jags can hold Moss to one 14 yd catch, so you give Maroney the ball for 122yds rushing and throw in a lot of short passes.
This team has got a lot of weapons.

The Jags definately have a good team.Could Garrard be their Brady?Almost seems like it.I was pleasantly surprised to see the Colts go down, but I feel bad for Dungy,he's a classy guy.I am pulling for Farve and the Packers all the way to the big game for the NFC.I obviously would like to see the Pats finish perfect for the year, but if they're gonna lose in the Bowl,I would like it to be Farve that beats them so he could get another ring. That guy just never quits! The Packers and the Pats....almost a win/win situation either way.

OK boys and girls, time for todays history lesson.
On Aug. 11, 1919, a score or more husky young athletes, called together by Curly Lambeau and George Calhoun, gathered in the dingy editorial room of the old Green Bay Press-Gazette building on Cherry Street and organized a football team. They didn't know it, but that was the beginning of the incredible saga of the Green Bay Packers.
Lambeau and Calhoun struck the initial spark a few weeks before, during a casual street-corner conversation. It was apparently a "Why not get up a football team?" remark, but once they were interested they wasted no time.
First they talked Lambeau's employer -- a war-time industry called the Indian Packing Company, where he worked as a shipping clerk for $250/month -- into putting up money for jerseys.
Because the company provided jerseys and permitted the use of its athletic field for practice, the club was identified in its early publicity as a project of the company. With this tie-in the name "Packers" was a natural, and Packers they have been ever since, although the Indian Packing Company had practically faded out of the picture before that first season was half over.
MM, welcome to the most sacred of NFL franchises. The only NFL franchise that is owned by the people and not a**holes like Jerry Jones. The only NFL franchise that has a 27 year waiting list to purchase season tickets. The only NFL franchise that has produced more NFL championships (12 dating back to 1929) than any other team in history.
I think the next closest team to them has 6 championships which I think is the Steelers or the Bears but I could be wrong. The Pats would have to win 9 more Super Bowls to be included in the same breath as the Packers records.
I'm somewhat of a fan.

OK, I was wrong about the rest of the NFL teams number of Championships, but I found the right answer.
Most NFL Championships: Green Bay Packers 12, Chicago Bears 9, New York Giants 6, Dallas Cowboys 5, Pittsburgh Steelers 5, San Francisco 49ers 5, Washington Redskins 5, Cleveland Browns 4, Detroit Lions 4, Indianapolis/Baltimore Colts 4.

Reid I beleive michigan got what they desrved with that lose. I have been trying to get rid of Carr since his first lost to the buckeyes. But that lose wasn't just his fault michigan tends to get their heads over inflated and they forget any team can win on any given saturday.
As far as the pack goes I like favre. He is a great quaterback. But so is brady. If they end up in the super bowl together I will be happy, because no matter the out come it's good with me as I like both teams. If you remember my home team is the lions so I have had to look for other teams to vote for, for many years now.

I'm sooo disappointed in Favre! What happened?
Tynes gave them plenty of chances to put the giants away.
Little Manning looked like he was playing on Miami beach compared to Brett.
Favre looked frozen and threw the ball the same way!

I agree Nauti.Although I thought the Giants had a chance,I never expected the Packers would be more affected by the weather.Even though the game was close throughout,The offense just never really got going.I wonder howmany Packers fans just became Pats fans.....at least till the Superbowl is over

Not me. I've gone Switzerland. I'll watch, but I'm not really emotionally invested in either team. I might pull for the Giants, just cuz it is exciting to see the underdog rise up and beat the odds.
The Pack failed themselves. They were handed so many opportunities and didn't capitalize on enough of them.
<sigh>, Now excuse me while I weep....

Ok Chris, enough tough talk. Undoubtedly we will meet in the playoffs. A six pack of Sam Adams says the Pats win. |
I tried to make a fair offer...I didn't even have a chance to make good on it. Oh well, those Sammies went down pretty smoothly. Chris said he didn't like Sammies anyway.

Looks like that Pat's are going 19-0 because the Giant'd have nothing for them. Brady can look at it this way, he gets to kick the whole manning family's but in one year. Maybe they can send their sister or their mom to play next year... LOL

Ouch...and I was just gonna e-mail mrs 87BFN to tell her how mature you had been as of late on here.
No dog in this fight so I'll just enjoy the game as I did Sunday. Well...I hate bellipuke but ya gotta respect what this team has done. And I love Payton Manning 'cause he was awesome as a Vol.....but I am still getting to like his bro.
