I just saw rleinen79's video of the Shelbyville2007 weekend, and saw a Hydo Ski!!

I rode one about 25 years ago, and then had another opportunity to ride it again 2 years ago. They guy I know who has it, got it from his brother, and he didn't really know much about it.

I made a sketch of it as I thought about making one, but couldn't find the right profile aluminum extrusion for the 'fins'.

I've never seen another, so I was quite surprised to see it on rleinen79's video.

jbear, remember when Dave B brought it to the Bay?

Anybody have any history behind them??

Wonder if you could attach a wakeboard to it instead of skis?

That ski belongs to one of Stang72's friends, brian. I don't think he comes on the sight too often, even though he has a beautiful 71(?) Nautique.   I bet one of the guys that rode it can fill in the details on it though.

BTW....you should try to get that boat to Green Lake or Shelbyville this year. It's really sharp.

Sure do....altho I can't believe it was that long ago. I think I remember that somebody had one at Norris too.

The thing is awesomely hard to ride. My best run was about 3 seconds @ 13 mph. Very humbling experience.

I would imagine it would handle very similar to the Air Chair/Sky Ski, which are very sensitive to any adjustments you make with rope, body, handle height, etc. I would love to try one out some time, we need to make sure Brian? brings his to GL this summer.
