Topic: Orange stripe
Posted By: Aemmer
Subject: Orange stripe
Date Posted: March-21-2008 at 4:42pm
I had an employee complain to my peer that I was too busy reading my boat website with the orange stripe to put together a job for her that would have taken me an hour to do. It didn't matter to her that I had already been at work since 5:00 AM (it was 7:00 PM at the time).

I just wanted some quick entertainment before going home for the day . Now the joke with my peers when my office door is closed is a quick "Hey Tim are you in there reading your boat website with the orange stripe."

Maybe Keith could change the stripe to a different color every day.

Enjoy the weekend.

Ah, the orange bar down the left hand side of the screen. It took me the whole post to figure out what you were saying. I'm pretty sure my co-workers all recognize that orange bar as well.

Joke or not, that's a great idea for a shirt! And even though the stripe over here to the < left < doesn't have a small stripe on each side of it, that might add to the design, which copies the racing stripe option found on early 70s decks.

And the folks in my office see the orange stripe so often, they're more apt to comment when they don't see it. But I have become the master of Minimize.

Hey Guys,
I like this idea. I'm actually out of inventory on the 'Are you A Fan?' t-shirts and need to order some new shirts for 2008. I have a great relationship with Action Screen printing and will go ahead and have some mock-ups made.

If people are really interested, please post how many you would want and what size. That way I can make sure to add 'pre-orders' to the first run.

I also have some ideas for retro shirts - like early 80's 2001 t-shirts. More to come.

Key chains are coming - hopefully by June.

Thanks,
Keith

BTW - this was, in fact, the inspiration for the colored strip - the orange color came from the http://www.correctcraftfan.com/reference/1978_accessories/ - 1978 Accessories Catalog

Where do I send my address for the royalty checks?

(Just kidding Keith, If you hadnt jumped on this I was thinking about it and sending the profit on a reasonable mark up to CCFan.)

Oh, 1 med. 1 lg.

Also, as a big fan of the simpler the better, I wouldnt have any other writing on the shirt. Your call on the single vs racing stripe though (although I think the single better mimics the site page from which it was derived...but thats only my .02.)

Mike I put my boat in , starting at Dixon high school and go all the way to the Sterling dam . About 12 miles . depth is between 5 to 60 feet . Average about 10 foot . Mostly 200 feet wide or more . There are some channel markers down by Sterling that you have to follow carefully .

Kristof, We're just finishing up the design for the reunion tees. Keith and I have talked about making up some new site tee shirts but there are a few projects in front of it right now. The reunions are a priority but we'll get to these eventually. Hang in there.

Thanks Alan, I'll hang in there

When I get home later, I'll start with ordering 2 CCF decals first, because I feel there's something missing on the windshield of my boat and the rear window of my car...

Okay Guys,
Before I order the new t-shirts, I have three slightly different designs for you all to consider. Of course, we can only pick one but I'm going to leave it up to a vote. Please let me know which design you like best from those below. Once selected, we'll be taking pre-orders through the Store and then I'll place the first run of shirts the beginning of next week.

Option 1:

Option 2:

Opiton 3:

Those who plan to order shirts, kindly let me know which design you prefer. The design with the most votes will be the new CCF shirt design.

Thanks,
Keith

Keith,
Im assuming the printing is on the front of the shirt?

I would be concerned that with #1 there would be nothing above the CCF logo if you want to keep it centered in the chest area?

I dont see Alan's preference? Come on... lets hear it from the pro.... Alan, what design would YOU do?

ok here goes, my understanding is the orange stripe is supposed to resemble a racing stripe and I think #2 does that best. The fade takes that effect away from the design.

But I'll print what ever you guys want unless you vote for #1 or #3 then I'll just print #2 and tell keith I made a mistake sorry

Come on Steve, as then it would just be an orange line. Right now, it's a RACING STRIPE!

I vote for the orange and blue one. Actually not to contradict what Alan said, I'm leaning more towards 3 in terms of total composition. While 3 does break up the racing stripe as he mentioned, it keeps the CCF logo from appearing to be just somewhat stamped across the stripe as if it might have been an afterthought, which I know isn't the case. But all Keith asked for was a vote, right? This is one battle I certainly won't mind loosing.   3-2-1.
