The ownership of this ’72 Skier is a partnership between myself and a college buddy of 25 years, Reid Pinkham, and typically resides at Reid’s lake location at Lake Norman, NC. We found it on BoatTraderOnline.com, as we did several others, about 7 years ago. It was purchased from the original owner outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, whose family had purchased it new at White Lake, NC.
The only upgrades have been the reupholstered seats, carpet, and the original one piece plexiglass windshield was replaced some time ago prior to our purchase. The 302 Holman Moody Ford has never been out of the boat and runs incredibly strong, but does have a leaking rear seal.
This boat has been to reunions in both FLA and Ohio.
The completely original 302 engine just recently (Summer 05) pushed the boat to a GPS recorded 50.4 mph with the original 12x14 Federal prop at 4600 RPM. It’s never even had a speedometer installed at all. Only the tach and other gauges.
