This ’79 is in excellent condition. I bought her in 2000 from White Lake Marine in need of some TLC. In ’01 I replaced the water pump. In ’02 had the entire floor and stringers replaced from bow to stern.
I also added some neat aesthetic extras. I found some "new in box" vintage chrome Airguide flush mount speedometers on Ebay to replace the weathered originals. Plus I installed a new tach, had the upholstery replaced, and installed snap-in carpet. I love that carpet--talk about a "snap" to clean and dry.
It originally had a Ford 302, but the previous owner replaced it with the 351 in ’96. He needed the extra muscle to pull him out of the water. No problems with that now--she’s strong and fast. To quote my marine mechanic, "she runs like a ’scawlded dawg’!"
I grew up on Lake Norman and loved to ski. I begged my dad for an inboard, but to no avail. So as soon as I had the means, I bought my own. I wish I could keep her, but my son was born last May and I just don’t have the time to use her. She deserves to be enjoyed and needs a good home.
I’ll be shopping again in a few years for another CC, but in the meantime someone needs to enjoy this classic boat.
