After 40 years of skiing behind the family all purpose bowriders, in 2006 I jumped at the chance to buy a 1983 2001. After discovering a bad engine rebuild the day after purchase and rot (my rookie mistakes) JoeinNY was nice enough to take it off my hands for a decent price. (He has turned it into one of the best boats on this website.) While bumming about my misfortune, I quickly found this 1997 on my lake (Winnipesaukee) for a great price, so I jumped at it. The boat is in great shape for a 10+ year old boat but for normal wear and tear on the upholstery. There are 450 hours on the engine, about 200 after a rebuild and it’s running strong.
Each weekend morning since 2006 starts at 6:30 and ends when the last kid or aging parent drops the line from exhaustion, or crashes. All the cousins and friends around me at the Lake marvel at the strong pull and the small wake and most importantly, the hours of driving for skiers are now nothing but fun for me.
