I have wanted a Ski Nautique since I was 10 years old or so. I finally made it happen on 7/1/10. This 1991 Yellow and Black Nautique only had 447 hours when I picked it up. The original owner only had it for a year or two and the 2nd owner took care of it for 17 years. Now I’m going to take care of it probably for the rest of its life. I’ve already had so much fun with the boat. It was definitely a good decision!
The interior is very nice for a nearly 20 year old boat. I do plan to replace the upholstery at some point because it is somewhat faded from age and there’s a few cracks and tears at the seams in the seats here and there. This boat will look brand new with a new interior.
2012 Updates:
*Replaced the steering cable, cleaned and greased the rudder shaft, and replaced the rudder packing with Gore GFO. Steers with one finger now! The boat was taking two hands to pull out of a right hand turn to pick up a down skier. Much better!
*New Gore GFO shaft packing.
*New spark plugs.
*Replaced the leaking riser gaskets.
*Replaced the ripped blower hose.
*Properly lapped the prop to the shaft.
*Refinished the teak swim platform. It’s beautiful now!
*Replaced the severely dry rotted original 1991 trailer tires.
