Bought our first CC last fall (2011) off the site and my fiancé’s father drove it up to MA from VA. Boat needed some extra TLC and I definitely put in some hard work over the winter and spring to bring it back to life. We bought the boat with very low hours, but overall, it needed to be spruced up.
The previous owner had replaced the floor and checked the stringers, as well as put in a new carpet and re-skinned the interior. Over the winter we put on new graphics (originally was gold but converted to red) and it made a huge difference. The hull had years’ worth of pond scum and I spent a lot of time cleaning and buffing it all out.
I put in all new gauges (kept the original hour meter and Airguides), redid the dash with decals, fuse holders, switches, added a new steering wheel and buffed out the dash. Added new decals to the hull sides and Correct Craft badging.
The previous owner had ‘hack-sawed’ the original ring/finger off the pylon and had to spend hours boring out the old brass. With help from guys on the site, I was able to get a ring/finger and replaced it on Memorial Day Weekend.
With the help of my fiancé’s father, we rebuilt the carb, changed the ignition and swapped the starter with an original CC starter.
Boat runs AWESOME! With the updated carb and new start, the boat fires right up and runs very smooth. It has the classic CC sound, and the entire lake can hear us cruising around.
