In 1964, I was stationed at McCoy Air Force Base near Orlando, Florida and living off-base just a few miles from the Correct Craft factory. My first Correct Craft boat was a plywood mustang. I soon found out that the V-6 in it didn’t have enough power for the type of waterskiing we were doing. In the fall of 1965 I bought the Ski Nautique that I currently own...hull number 1405.
It was built as a 1966 model year with the Chrysler 318 c.i. 210 hp engine. The words “Correct Craft Ski Nautique” were hand painted on each side and still look great.
I was reassigned to Kirkland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1968.
A letter that I sent to Correct Craft in late 1982 was printed in the Orlando Tribune, vol. 22, number 2, April, 1983, published by Correct Craft, Inc. and titled “Proud Owner”. It includes a picture of the boat with its Arizona registration number.
The boat has been maintained as original, except for a second bilge pump that has been added and a turquoise carpet that now overlays the original black and white speckled rubber matting. The turquoise carpet matches the deck color.
The trailer is not original, as it now has a different axle and full size tires.

Update, May 2013:
I have the boat apart almost to the last bolt and screw and will be taking it to the engine shop on Weds to correct a water entry problem into my crankcase oil. Yep, same problem I had in 2010. Hopefully, we can find the problem quickly and get going on putting the boat all back together better than new with new rugs...
