I grew up behind my uncle’s 1980 SN on Lake James in NE Indiana. The summer of 08 I found this gem on Lake James as well. I bought this from the original owning family and it was in really good shape with very few minor stress cracks. I took her from one lake to the other. We had a blast in the boat last summer and I knew I had to bring her back to the condition she deserved.

So the fall/winter/spring of 08-09 a buddy and I stripped her down. I then took it to Fiberglass Products in St. Joe Indiana. They first re-checked the stringers and they were solid. They replaced the transom, re-gel coated the boat from the bottom up (minus very bottom). All new ski nautique graphics, new stickers and correct craft plates, new rub rail, rope and pilot tubes. New interior, carpet, steering wheel, custom orange throttle ball, Teleflex white faced gauges with Lavorsi orange bezels (looks incredible). I had all the teak steps repainted, as well cleaned, sanded and refinished the teak swim platform. The motor runs very strong and the carb has been rebuilt. I can get 50 mph out of her which I am told is unusually fast.

This boat screams WOW! Everyone makes fun of me now, because I am constantly wiping it down – lol. It’s a definite head turner, I can’t take it out without people stopping me or gathering around it. It turned out way better than I could of imagined.

I really don’t want to sell it, but now I got the bug, and want to do it all over again. This is a one of a kind original custom. The boat was originally dark brown. I kept all the old gauges and they work if someone ever wanted to put back completely original, but I very much doubt anyone ever would. I have a trailer from an 93 SNSS that I am starting to redo to match the boat.
