Is NAPA oil made by Valvoline?

http://napaonline.com/Catalog/CatalogItemDetail.aspx?R=NCA75120_0006411544

Does it contain ZDDP?

https://partimages.genpt.com/partimages/715164.pdf

This does not help?

Welcome to CCF fan. And Napa oil is valvoline. Darn good stuff. I am not a oil expert but some of the other professional members will be along to give you a break down on ZDDP, which one is good or bad. I hope this helps.

Read this thread, this one explains what you may be looking for.

Any SJ classified oil will not have the levels of ZDDP that you should run in a flat tappet motor.

Eric,
I'm glad you were able to read through the previous thread on oil and pick up some info. In brief, I feel Gary really said it all regarding any "SJ" rated oil will not have the ZDDP level needed. That's a fantastic reference.

Also, links here are not "automatic" like you may find at other forums. You need to use the "post reply" and not the "quick reply". Then, clicking on the world icon with bring up a window where you enter the description you want to post. Then after entering that and clicking "ok", the second window that comes up is where you paste the copied address.

BTW, Valvolene makes MANY different oils! As you learned from the previous thread, the VR1 is the one to use.

I wonder how the Castrol 20-50 I used in my 90 Sport for 15 years and a 1000 + hours has worked. I used this as the Nautique dealer told me to. It is only since I upgraded to the 99 Super Sport that I started to look into it. The oil is in the boat and I will run it for the next 50 hours. I will then look to get some Vr1 I guess. Here is the 90 I just skied behind her today!
