On the Illinois River there is a serious problem with the invasion of these Asian Carp, they tend to jump around boat propellers, major concern is them getting out into Lake Michigan.

Some Peoria Guys working on the problem, Awesome!!

We need to get the local crew together and head down there for some of this action, LOL!

Looks funny, but, it's kind of a sad reality.

Can't use dynamite without harming the other fish that are not intent on screwing up your day.

Haven't seen any up by us in Morris yet but they can't be far away. That is gonna displace a lot of water skiers when they make it up that far. The video's somewhat funny at first but reality is WTH do we do about it? They are pulling those fish out by the ton and selling them overseas and for fertilizer but the darn females carry 100,000 eggs each and they have no predators but us. Another self inflicted imported nightmare on our ecology.

They keep talking about closing the locks to the Lakes but won't do that because of barge shipping, big money wins again. When they are "officially" found in the great lakes it's game over for most all other game fish. This will be worse than zebra mussels.

In the mid 1900s Striped Bass were all but gone from netting for farm fertilizer. Net them to extinction for farm fertilizer.

Quinner-

I've heard that these Asian carp love to catch a ride in ski boats, especially Asian built ski boats... Maybe you ought to get a Toyota Epic and see how many you can get to jump on-board!

looks like a good way to stab yourself. So how did you get this sword in your leg? Oh skiing with it trying to chop fish, that makes sense.

Alan i have seen these fish down on the lower starved rock side.I had no problem with them and my correct craft. I believe that it is only a problem for outboards within a certain RPM range. I saw guys atanding on the deck of a boat hunting them with bows and fishing arrows . Quite the sport.

Hmmm, their food source comes from the bottom of the Illinois river...you are what you eat.

That's only 2 locks away Pat, I'm sure they're already up by us I just haven't seen any yet. I wonder if a whiny new Nautique sounds like an outboard underwater? LOL
