Maybe the Mcs have dry foam and can float better?

Didnt you already get an answer to that question? No, the 2001 is not rated for 9 people. I believe it lists the same 6 person capacity as the NWZ hull. Yes, you can physically fit more people in it. But not in a manner that the manufacturer or USCG would consider "safe". How would you go about putting 9 people in a 2001? 5 across the back, 3 in the observer seat and the driver? Not normal sized people. You'd have to put some on the floor or motorbox. Those are not considered "proper" seats. |

The new one, which is presumably larger, holds 7:

Why only 6? Doesn't the 2001 hull hold 9?

Joe is correct on the 90-96 capacity. 6 people or 1280 lbs, IIRC.
I think a late 80's MC says 8 people or 1050 lbs, or somewhere thereabouts. Not sure where they would sit, those boats are even smaller than a 2001 on the inside. As far as the weight capacity goes, maybe MC owners are really skinny? |

Plus, the weight capacity is only a little over a thousand anyway.

haha no way! I mean, you could probably get 9 dead bodies in there if thats why you are asking but for any other application there will be alot of complaining. There is only seating for 6 including the driver. No open bow.
