Wiring in 84 SN2001

check out this thread.

If I have this correct:
Yellow = 12v switched
Red = 12v constant
Black = Ground
(guessing) Blue = Remote

It sounds like you are running the subwoofer directly off the receiver? or do you have a line level out to an amp driving the subwoofer?

Assumption 1 No amp:
The 10 gauge Red wire from the harness to your instrument panel can provide enough "juice" for the receiver (as long as you really aren't trying to provide music for the entire lake). How you tie into that power source is up to you and there are many ways to do it. If you want your presets saved, you will have to come off the hot side of the ignition breaker. Then the yellow can be tied into either the switched side of the key (i believe it is the purple side) or one of your ACC breaker switches (I use ACC 1 for stereo, ACC2 for power outlets). The ground(s) should be pretty obvious, there are quite a few black wires all pigtailed together from the horn, lights, dash gauges, etc.   you can just tie into these. It can be a mess to do so many of us have just added a negative bus bar or terminal strip (each terminal jumped) to clean it up. Here is a thread from Brian with dash wiring. at the end, I have a diagram of my setup. As you can see from this tread, it is recommended to use marine wire and adhesive lined heat shrink ends for your connections. The rest of the speaker connections should be straight forward from the installation manual.

Assumption 2 with amp for sub:
Wire the switched 12v however you choose (ignition key or acc breaker or switched side of ignition breaker). Run a 4 gauge wire from the battery (with inline fuse) to the amp. Tie your red constant 12v from the stereo to the same terminal as your amp 12v constant. Use the blue wire as your remote to turn on the amp. Since your amp needs a new ground as well (4-6 gauge) you can run that from one of the bolts on the side of the engine by plug 1 or from the back where the rest of the grounds are, and you can then use that ground post for your stereo. Then you can just wire the subwoofer as per the manual.
