I've wanted to make a comment about this for awhile...but don't want to piss anyone off. Anyhoo...I frequent a number of other message boards that use different software. The only feature that I really miss over here is private messaging. PHPBB is freely available. It would obviously be effort to convert, but has there been any consideration to this? I love the info on this site, just wondering about the format. Like I said, i don't want to offend anyone that works hard to keep this site up and running.

Donations keep this site alive and kicking. Maybe we all kick in and help Keith introduce this option? It's totally a Keith call here. Sounds good to me though.

MIrc is great free chat room software. I used to play a ton of online video games and thats what alot the the guilds/ clans use.

Chat rooms are OK, but i would hate to think people would get on there and ask questions and get advice. Too much information that could make contributions to this sites archive of questions and answers would be lost.

Hi All,
I agree with 77stang. The best part about this format is that when the conversation is over, others can always find it via the search. Personnally, I look up old info all the time. Before I ask a new question, I do a quick search and find 9 times out of 10, it has already been answered.

I'm open to anything but love the archive aspects of this form.

Keith, which forum software are you using right now? ususally they have a copyright down at the bottom so you can tell, but this one doesn't.

I'm with 77 and Keith.

Besides the bonus of being able to search the archive, I think one of the great things on here is that the first opinion someone gives isn't always the best or the right one. If chatting eliminated many opinions, it would be to the loss of whoever is asking for help.
