1990 22 foot Open Center Console. (22' x 8'6")

Had a new Seamaxx 351 professionally installed about 2 years ago at a local shop. Boat used only a couple times after that. The engine runs perfectly and starts right up with the key.

The hull is in good shape with no soft spots, rot, etc anywhere that I can find. Cosmetically, the gelcoat shows typical wear & age.

The transmission needs overhaul as it works, but drags slightly in neutral. (Around $200-300 in parts. And for that matter, only around $200 in labor if you remove it and take it to the shop yourself.) It is a 1:1 Velvet Drive.

The engine is great, but I would plan to restore or at least "go through" the rest of the boat before using it. I would say it is in "average" condition for it's age. At a minimum, I would rewire it, change hoses, through-hulls, etc. Probably would change steering & shifter, new cutla$$ bearing, repack shaft & rudder, etc. etc. Personally, I was planning to completely restore the boat to like new, including an Awlgrip paint job, but you don't necessarily have to do that.

Galvanized trailer included. Condition is "fair" at best (rusty) , although it does have new tires, wheels, and bearings.

I'm asking $8000 and the price is firm. I figure a person can buy it for that, put a couple grand in it getting it rigged and shipshape to their liking, and come out ahead. I would do it myself, and that is why I bought it, but recent demands on my time dictate that I would have to put this boat on the back burner for too long of a time.

Other things to mention are that the boat has bottom paint, but no sign of blisters. You are welcome to sand a few random spots down to the gelcoat and inspect. (Boat was only kept in the water in the summer, and removed in the off season.) I think the bottom paint could be stripped off and the gelcoat buffed back. Also, the tanks look remarkably good, with no pitting on the top and the original paint & stickers still in tact. I also have a set of spray dodgers for the T-top and the cushion for the leaning post. I did not show them in the photos. They are in fair condition.

I do not want to seatrial the boat. It is not currently registered or insured. But I will demonstrate the engine on a garden hose. In a nutshell, it is a 17 year old boat with a new engine. Plan to spend some time on it before using it. With that said, I think my price is more than fair and I would keep it for myself if I had the time to do the projects any time soon.

'82, Yep, I've got mine and I love it, but it's just a baby, at 17' compared to the 22 yur looking at. But it's an entirely different kind and purpose of boat from a CC, so I don't sense a conflict. . And Shamrock has never made ski or speed boats, however I have skied behind one.   Two words sum them up- Heavy Duty.   

I've always wanted an inboard center console boat,there are alot of things I like to do on the water that I don't like to do in my SN or arenacraft or schiada.I've been looking for around a 19 ft but don't know a thing about them,this is a good brand a Shamrock?

Some friends of ours up on Sandusky Bay traded their 2001 for a Shamrock and love it. As Reid said "the C/C of fishing boats".

Dear 82, you’re on the right track in choosing an inboard. Although my friend calls them Slamrocks because on the lack of dead rise (He was also was a CC dealer in the ‘80’s and early ‘90’s and Shamrocks were his biggest competition in the center consol market so just take that comment with a grain of salt). There are several Shamrocks moored in my club, one guy has owned 3 over the past 15 years, but I think that a result of the inboard power. As for me, I just purchased my ‘Fish” last spring and I am very impressed with the ride. My 351 “starts on a dime”. While not a speed demon, I cruise at about 25-27mph and top out at 37mph; but let it get a chop up and I will out run most outboards. Other options for you may include looking for ‘Fish’ project. I believe there is a ’85 posted on this site but at $12k and I remember seeing a ’88 project ‘fish’ on Boat Trader at $7900. But at $8k for the Shamrock that may be the better deal. Good luck, Jerry

82, Don't ever think you have it covered....I thought that I did too until I ended up with this fleet: (23 CC Cuddy, 88 2001, 20' Hydrodyne Deck Boat, 14' Crosby Fishing Boat, Jet Ski) I still don't think I have it covered, however my wife said I did 4 boats ago

I'm just not a fan of the center consule (sp) boats, guess if I'm going out into big water I would rather have a large rear deck to fish off and some cover up front incase the weather gets bad.

I agree with 79, I like the looks of the center console over a Walk around style, however I do like the extra protetion agains the elements. When running my cuddy when it get rough, I just put up the bimini an drive without getting wet, just can't see out the windshield, need wipers!
