still looks south of us, but the forecast is creeping north...not going anywhere yet. We're between Galveston and Houston (about 20 miles inland and 6 miles east of Galv bay). If there are forced evacs here, we're in the third tier.

On the news here they said Ike went down to a Cat 1 storm, but as it passes over the sea, it could pick up some force...

Wish all you guys in it's path good luck! Keep us informed...

Looks like Ike is going to miss you guys. I'm happy for all you LA people that had deal with that Gustav. Latest forecast is Ike will come in south of us...we're still holding our breath and waiting to see the models tomorrow before making any decisions concerning evacuation...

We had power for 3 hours and lost it.   just got it back.    thanks for all the ccf memebers thinking about us.

Doc and Karen thanks for the offer, but we will ride it out just like I know you would..

We live in a 135 year old off the ground cypress house. So if it made it that long through all those storms then why leave.
we just dont need no twisters...

thanks again Doc for the invite.   will keep you informed as long as I have power.

Got a few pics i will try to get up later when I get done with all the clean up around hear.

Adam; You catch anything from Hanna going up the coast? Looks like Ike is gonna head into the Gulf. Strong storm right now. Wild time of the year.

Doc, glad to hear that you have no major repairs! I'm tempted to razz you about that 3rd prong, but you've already had a tough run of days?!!?   LOL

I've mentioned before that I have a te'taunt and te'nunc...yall are a tough breed!

Doc, Glad you're ok. It's weird how those bands just come and drill a specific part and 10 miles over, there was half the accumulation. We got 28" in 38 hours in 2001. Not on a bayou as big as yours, but a creek...came up and got us.

Very glad you made it through. Let's hope Ike stays away.

The Doctors Office is open..........
What a wild ride guys,we caught the worst side of the Eye Wall.Winds above 75 mph gusts much higher with lottsa rain.
Total amount in excess of 20 inches, all in less the 30 hrs.We have plenty of water here , any takers.
Lost power for 36 hrs. but as Pete said we have to take care of ourselfs, "FEMA can't spell Monterey, much less show up"
No real damage to our place , just branches and large limbs. Oh and lottsa water.
Thanks for the concern from all on this site............Billy/Karen

I understand that power was lost at the doctors complex. He had to get the portable gen set out to fire up the computer for his CCfan fix!
I also understand the generator only zapped him once! Something about that 3rd little prong on the extension cord that was missing!!

skicat,
these Plylox clips are made in my town but on their web site they are sold in a couple SC stores...not sure how far from you. I've found them to be simple and easy to use on many window applications. Good luck.

Hope all stays well down there.

Looks like Hanna is going to hit the southeast coast. GA / SC area. I am watching it through tomorrow & have to make the decision as to go batten down the hatches at our condo on Hilton Head or not. From what I see now, it doesn't look good. Searching the internet now on how to board up the window. Anybody want to buy a condo this week?

Guys: glad to hear it wasn't worse. Sorry to hear about your trees going down, that's always sad. Billy, so glad you're OK. Hope you can keep power. They're saying many are without. Blessings, David
