It is just what its called. A light simple frame of wood is made inside the boat to create a high point. The plastic is draped over the boat and secured around about the waterline. Then a large heat gun warms the plastic, it gets taught and you have a cover that sheds water and much snow. New boats are shipped shrink wraped. Doors, vents , etc can be added. I have no idea as to the cost. Check with your local marinas as for prices.

You can also check into getting it shrink wrapped. Most boats around New England that are stored out side go this route.

Angola Canvas should also be able to make you a waterline cover. They used to supply the covers for MWCC for years, so I would expect them to have the template for your boat. I just got a quote on a cover for our BFN and the price seemed very reasonable. My sister got one from them for her Mustang and the fit is excellent and workmanship appears to be top notch.

I got mine from boatcoversdirect. Spent the extra money and got the sunbrella cover and one that covers the platform. Very good fit and it goes to the bottom of the stripe. Trailers well although I try not to use it while pulling behind the truck. If you want something that goes lower it will most likely be custom and big bucks.

Check out www.skiboatcovers.com. They have waterline covers and will custom make the cover for you with the tie straps as the front, rear right side or left side based on your preference. Very good quality product.

I am being forced to keep my 1997 Ski Nautique outside this winter and just had the exterior wet sanded and need some advice in protecting the finish. Does anyone know of a company that will make a cover that will come down low enough to protect paint. If not does anyone have any tricks that could help me out???????
