WOFTAM, read into the post what you want. There is a proper way to support a boat while internal stringers or other work is performed. I did not agree then nor now. Futhermore if you would have posted the pic ,I would have called you on it too.
I have made several CCFan events over the past years,and I have learned a lot from other members.Most here are family, not some screen name on a PC.We swap parts,info, phone numbers and how the kids are doing in school.
Both how to do it Correct and how to "half fast", can be seen at any event and on a lot of threads. Which catagory do you fall into?I hope you are a Do It Correct Guy, if so welcome aboard, and hope to see you at an event with your CC.........Billy

As a new member, I would like to suggest CONSIDERING the usefulness of such comments.

I use this site as a resource of technical information as well as support and encouragement. Reading comments in a public forum like this makes me reconsider dragging my boat to a CC reunion.

There is no doubt in my mind that it would not be selected "best in show", but I sure as heck do not want spend my time and money traveling to a reunion only to be subject to such scrutiny in a public fashion.

I propose that we remember the purpose of this forum which is listed at the top of the page:

Ask questions or be helpful guidance to fellow Correct Craft owners; buy and sell original parts; or discuss anything Correct Craft related.

I am now off my soapbox.

Whether you bring the trailer up to the boat or bring the stands down doesnt really matter- but I would want as many bracing points as possible.

Level is all relative... the stringers/floor, hull and deck will not necessarily run parallel. Leveling off the stringers/floor would make the most sense, I would think.

You can't use a level unless the boat was adjusted first leveling it off to the tops of the old stringers before removal. It's best to measure off known reference points such as the floor at the hull sides.

It doesn't really matter front to back, just as long as your hull is not twisted.

Which is worse, a hack job or a rush job?

Either way you decide to support the boat, it's a good idea to have it all supported before yanking out the stringers.   Don't forget to support the forward keel.

Stands look good, but why do you have it lifted so it's not touching the bunks?

Billy!! What's the problem with a few cement blocks? Some of us do what we can with what's at hand. I've put plenty of boats up on blocks. We've all seen worse "hack jobs"!!
