Just got my invoice from SkiDim and they did cut me a break on shipping for that switch

Only half the original price of shipping; came to 5 dollars and change.

So this one:
http://www.skidim.com/prodinfo.asp?number=RM0125
is a little thicker than the paper ones, right?

The kit I bought was this:
http://www.nautiqueparts.com/sherwoodimpellerkit.aspx
and included paper ones. I used one of them, but I'd say they were only a little thicker than wax paper or something.

That ski dim one seems like more of a thin cork material. Don't remember even seeing that, but there could subtle differences in these Sherwood pumps year to year.

BTW: Ski Dim does claim that they'll work with you on the shipping of small items. I ordered a (very small) dash breaker switch for about $20 that had another $10 shipping charge according to the site. Karen had told me another time that they keep an eye on the really small items and will put them in a USPS envelope if they can. I'll find out if that's the case.

horkn, the gasket im referring to goes on the other side of the end plate.

o-ring = sherwood part no. 12231
gasket = sherwood part no. 12855

ended up buying from redden marine in washington about an hour after my last post. they got it in their evening mail in a cardboard supported envelope, should be here here friday.

Agreed, I thought the explanation was a bit short, but last time I bought an impeller I didn’t get any gaskets (just the o-ring).

Come to find out, I do need to purchase this gasket which got damaged in the disassembly.

It goes on the opposite side of the brass plate

That doesn't seem like the clearest explanation but:

Some of the kits come with the paper gaskets and some don't. I would say that it must not always be necessary, because SkiDim doesn't even sell the kits that come with the paper gasket. What's more important is the rubber ring.

I actually bought a kit from WhiteLake last year that included an assortment of paper gaskets as well as the O-Ring. I used the O-Ring and found a paper gasket in the kit that fit my pump, so I used that too. Not totally sure if I neeeded to though, I don't think there was a paper one in there before.

Purchased a new impeller and i had a question about the paper gasket. Their response was that I didnt need the paper gasket since i had a PCM motor.

Whats up with that?
