'86 2001 dry weight 2,400 lbs. - add 100 lbs. for fluids and battery, 100 lbs. for 1/2 tank gas, 1,000 lbs. for trailer. Total is 3,600 lbs. The number I'm really not sure of is the trailer.

Dont worry about it Joe. I think you got the fastest 2001 hull around and will smoke most others.

How much wet foam are you carrying around in the hull? Have you ever pulled it across a scale to check it? Or, has the hull been re stringered?

I went to public school. All I know is, I like books with pictures and math is not my forte.

I was just looking for a number off the top of someones head. My hope was that someone would reply with "around 3500 pounds".

I'm lazy....what can I say...

Matt,
Next time your're over at the hardware store, look for a little black book titled "pocket ref" It has all the data in it needed!! SG's of anything you need!!

We can't help out with everything!! BTW, does your wife help you out every time you need to go relieve yourself !!!!

Rather than start a new thread, I'll ask this here...

What is the weight a person should see if they were to weigh their boat and trailer with full fluids and 1/2 a tank of gas?

Matt,
All you need to do is to go into the reference section and find the dry weight of the hull as it was shipped from the factory. Add a few pounds for fuel and the battery and estimate trailer weight and your done. What is your problem?? Weight of a battery is a given as well as the weight of a gallon of gas!! I'm still struggling with your question???? Do you have a calculator? Sorry!!!

River ratt, My stock 87 with an acme 540 runs about 4200 RPM and hits 43-44 mph on gps, I dont like to run WOT for more than a minute or 2 at a time, 5400 would scare me.

Not given,
You should be cranking more than 4K. Somethings not correct and I doubt it's the prop however, wait for some of the prop guys to chime in.

There's a big difference between the 2 hulls. Even if you find a problem and get the revs up, you will not outrun him. It's a fact that the 2001 hulls are not fast!!!

5400 to me is getting up there for a stock engine which normally red lines around 4500. Has he been doing some engine mods and not telling you??

How much wet foam are you carrying around in the hull? Have you ever pulled it across a scale to check it? Or, has the hull been re stringered?

BTW, if you care to, add your first name to your profile. You mave not noticed but unlike other sites, CCfan members have a tendency to use first names rather than screen names. Maybe it's the "old guy" in me but I feel it's more personal. Many have done it!!! I really do not want to keep calling you "not given"!!!

my friend and had a little race on the river. He has a 79 sn mine is a 87 sn 2001. his boat was clearly faster, and pulled away from me steady. He said his rpms were 5400. I could barley get my boat to4000. we looked at our props, and both were 13×13rh mine was a bridle cup his a super cup.Could that alone be the difference in my low rpm? Granted my boats slightly bigger.would i get more top end switching props or is that the recommend one? thx in advance for input and opinions
