I agree with Mark on using one of the mounting machine screws as a ground.
Have you ever tried soldering aluminum? |

Use a round terminal on the wire and put that under one of the five small bolts holding the fuel sender in place. Just make sure the surfaces are clean providing a good earth point.

Tank is out but when disconnecting the sender wires the tag that isn't on the centre nut came away at the soldered join to the tank
looking at the picture I think the remaining bit left see piccie is steel not ally so I am hoping I can solder a new wire / tag on to it Any Tips on how do do this successfully ? No 1 yes the tank is empty and i intend to fill it with water for the soldering |
