I bought a Harbor Freight heat gun for $15.00. It works but the pin strip still takes some time due to breakage. You have to get the decal the right temp...soft enough to pull off but not so hot that it almost melts.
Clean glue off with acetone.
Thanks.......Tom

I just removed the decals and pin striping on my 1989. A heat gun is a must. Removes quickly and easily. Also, leaves very little adhesive. You can try a hair dryer on its highest setting. It may take more time to heat the pin striping with a hair dryer.

I bought my heat gun for $30 at Ace Hardware.

Have you tried a 3M eraser wheel?

Thanks,

Anyone know of effective way to remove old pinstriping from a 1991? It is old and brital- I am removing it, but is breaks off every inch or so and is leaving the old dried out "stickum" on the hull. Want to get it off as quickly as possible without damaging the hull.
