Like '79 said...

The procedure is a little different depending on the model of boat you have but is generally the same. I've installed depth finders on both my '79 and my '02.

I look for where the wires go from the engine compartment up through to the dash. On the '79 there is a tube they pass through, I can't remember if there is a tube on the '02 or not.

Anyway, I started in the engine compartment with a length of household 14/2 electrical wire (romex). I used this because I had it readily available. Anything that is somewhat stiff but still flexible will work (you can't push a rope). Start feeding the wire through from the engine compartment to behind the dash. Once it comes out the other side tape the transducer wire to it and pull it through.
