Ha that was the PO's never ran the engine with that.

Sadly i've been dismantling the 318, it apparenlty had 6hrs on a rebuild , but i didn't winterize it 5 years ago. I'm an idiot.

BTW in my 2 pictures, is it safe to assume those end plates have the same measurements, between the 318 and 273. I have the 318 in cincinnati, and the engine needing the new end plate is in MW 712miles away.

I'll take mine off tonight and bring it in and see if i can get a shop guy to make one.

I bought a drill press 3 years ago, maybe it's about time i use it? haha

I'll steal some 1/4" flat bar we got ton's of it.

In all seriousness Peter you can fab those plates up with nothing more than a jig saw with the proper blade, hand drill and an angle grinder. I would go 1/4". Sometimes you can find your stock at HD or a farm supply store. For larger projects I use onlinemetals.com

I made this bow stop with a jig saw, drill press and an angle grinder all in my driveway. Certainly easier if you had a nice shop but you can make do with what you've got.

Peter,

None of the manifolds on 318's and 273's that are stock have a tapped hole....well i take that back my 318 has tapped holes, but they're plugged with brass plugs.

Peter you got my thinking though, i'll see if work can make one for me.

WHat thickness of plate to you suggest? 1/4" or 3/16?

Do you have access to a vise, grinder, hack saw and drill?

BTW, why do you need one without the tapped hole? Are you changing the Chrysler unique cooling system/routing?

Call Washington Marine and ask them who to call, there are a bunch of junk/salvage operations down on the river, there must be dozens of those chrysler parts down there, just about all the older cruisers and live aboards had chrysler power.
