The rebuild kits are fairly expensive, so if the housing is worn much, it's more worthwhile to buy a replacement pump. If it has leaked water, you need to replace the bearings along with the seal and seat. You need to know that getting the seal out of a G21 is tricky, because it's not practical to remove the pulley from the shaft. It is a press fit, and unless you have the exact support to put it on in the press, you will bend the pulley. To get the seal out through the impeller side, I drive a screw into the seal and pull it out with a claw-prybar. Kind of crude, but if you don't have a press and the support, it works.

i have a sherwood G21 pump out of a Super Air Nautique that needs a rebuild kit. it was leaking about a drip every two seconds last summer. brand new impeller in it, 0 hours. i was planning on rebuilding and selling it this winter.
i'd like $125, that would include shipping. |
