Did you look in the reference section for the wiring diagram?

It's common to have some extra wires. They may have been for options. Trace them and see where they go.

Thank you, any chance you know where I can get a wiring schematic for the Nautique dash there appear to be several wires having loose with no obvious destination.

David,
What other issues are you having other than the fuel gauge? With the gauge, check that you have + 12 volts nominal to the gauge, then continuity via the sender wire all the way back to the tank sender and then a ground continuity from the sender base to the engine block. The quick way to check the gauge is to remove the sender wire from the sender itself, ground it and the gauge will peg to full.

Does anyone out there have a dash wiring diagram for a 1994 Nautique. I have a non-working gas gauge and other issues that I would like to trouble shoot. I am the second owner of this boat and it appears that the previous owner did some creative wiring for the sound system but otherwise it seems to be stock. I also have only one Speedo working and need to evaluate that while I have this thing apart. I would love to put it back together correctly. Thanks.
