Believe it or not , I still ski on Olin Mark IV 's with Tyrolia 350 bindings and orange Hanson boots . People talk to me on the lift all the time reminiscing about those skis and the past .

Sounds like something that should be hanging over the fireplace in the Mohawk lounge.

I'm partial to Smuggler's Notch. I go there every year with a big group of people from Griffin Hospital in Derby. I haven't skied out West yet, but there is probably a 50% chance I will be moving to Denver within the next year, so I may have the chance! I hear it's a lot easier to ski out there.

And Mohawk Mtn is still there.   I love skiing there because they are somewhat liberal with how they rate their trails. I can ski the blacks and it makes me feel special. If I ski up in Vermont I have to stick to the blues so I don't kill myself.

Looked for photos of candlewood east, found none. It was a club, not a Marina, but their website says since 1983, so maybe it was just the club before that. Google map looks about right, it was on a point with a cove to the north.

Grew up in Stamford, fond memories of skipping school and going to candlewood. In winter, we'd skip and go to Mohawk Mountain

Back in the 70's we kept our century in a slip at a nice boat/yacht club that I want to say was toward the southern end on the Brookfield side, had nice docks, nice grassy area, nice clubhouse, can't remember the name..ring any bells?

I am a master at wiggling the throttle just right to make sure the neutral safety is not engaged :) I will however bypass the switch and see if it starts up.

I was just looking at and auto parts store online website at starter relays and never realized they can be so bad... Some of the relays have 1 star reviews saying things like.. "Do not buy, cheap product, second time I started my truck the starter stayed engaged"...

Generally I find that buying certain parts for a 351 motor in a "1993 Ford Bronco" replaces very well with the motor I have. The relay with the best reviews which is in stock at my local store is $21.99 and looks exactly the same.   SkiDim sells the "Marine Starter Relay" for $28 + shipping and of course I have to wait. Is there really a difference? From what I've seen with cap differences maybe the terminals are just made of a different ant-spark material?

Took the old starter and bench tested it.... Direct to battery on bench the solenoid pops in and out but the starter does not spin.   It's dead.... Got a new starter. Bench tested it first and it spins strong. Put it in the boat, turn the key... and nothing.... Jump the solenoid and the boat starts right up. Any idea where I should start, keeping in mind that the original problem was that while on the water the boat dies, I started it up and the starter kept spinning? I had an extra new resistor that I planned to change out with, but when I opened up the bag I had it in, it is rusted really bad.

Maybe pick up a new resistor? Or start with the starter relay?

P.S. this is a 1995 Sport Nautique, but all of the PROTEC crap has been switched out to a carb, cap, rotor, manual fuel pump, etc.

An old sender gasket perhaps? Nonetheless not something that should be floating around in there.
