I'll add to what Tim states. The OEM cable has more stroke so it moves the rudder the proper needed degrees whereas the standard off the shelf cable won't. Yes, you will not be able to turn the boat as intended. Welcome to CCfan. How about some pictures when you get a chance. We'd love to see the boat. |

I just bought the 2001 cable. I haven't regretted the decision to go with the original. Buy from Nautique Parts and use discount code PND for 10% discount.

Is there any alternative to the $300 steering cable for a 1983 2001 Ski Nautique it is unique in that it is 17.5 feet long. Thanks for your replies. Jobeski |
