JP,
My twin inboard Sea Ray has a T on each sea strainer. |

We've looked at a few different makes and models. Boat will be between 32'-35'. Looking to keep it on East Coast near New Smyrna beach area. |

What kind of boat are you looking at? Where will you keep it? Jerry

Forgetting them closed is definitely an issue. I would think my procedure would be to park the boat, hook up the hose, shut the valve, fire up engine, run for a minute or so, then remove hose and open valve. Repeat for other motor.
Good to know it's possible to do. I would think it would help prolong the life of the manifolds a bit. |

I would set it up so you can't forget to open your seacocks back up, Otherwise it could end up costing you way more than manifolds.
Maybe tie a cord between the ,two or something else very obvious like that. |

JP,
As long as you close the sea cock, I don't see a reason the TT wouldn't supply the fresh water to the engine. |

With a Timmy T and a fresh water hose attached you would get much more fresh water into the system but the boat is still in water and I bet some salt water would be sucked in also but I have never tried what you wish to do. Your pump will suck from the easiest source.

This is not a CC related question, but it does involve the Timmy Tee, so I figured I'd ask it here.
Wifey and I have been shopping for a bigger boat (32'+) lately. This boat will be wet slipped in the salt water. Salt water and manifolds and risers don't mix as we all know. Would it be possible to install the Timmy Tee and flush the exhaust and manifolds with fresh water while the boat sat in the slip at the marina? It appears to have a valve at the through hull. So my logic was to install the TT after the valve. The exhaust exits on the sides, slightly above the water line. |
