Sounds good thanks. There are 2 relays on the back of the motor. I believe that one maybe the the fuel pump relay, is the other one a start relay?

Next when it happens again is to jiggle the throttle/shift to see if maybe the NSS (neutral safety switch) is open not allowing the start relay to energize. If that is the problem then a shift cable adjustment is needed.

Jason,
The first thing to look at is the battery cable connections. Make sure they are clean and tight. Clean both wit a battery post/cable terminal cleaner. It has male and female wire brushes that do a great job. |

96 sport with efi.
Turned the key to start and nothing happened. Heard the fuel pump engage but didn’t start. Tried again, nothing. Third time a charm, fired right away as it always does. This was the second time this has happened. Both times it started on the third attempt. Before I go and start replacing parts “Willy Nilly”, what should I look at first? Ignition switch? Starter? Relay? I wouldn’t call myself mechanically inclined so speak slowly !!!! Thanks |
