Unopened…good for many years. Oxygen and contaminants are the problem. If there are any constituents with a high vapor pressure, the sealed bottle should prevent volatiles from evaporating.

I've had some bottles of transmission fluid sitting on the shelf for I dont know how many years. Does this stuff have a shelf life and might no longer be good, or should it be fine to go ahead and use?
