All perspective Larry. You've had a lot of years to enjoy your kids, as kids. You're still fairly young and healthy. Now you have a lot of years to enjoy them as adults. On the other hand, I'll be in my mid-sixties by the time my kid gets out of high school. You betcha I enjoy every second. May be all the time I get. Wouldn't trade places with anyone. But it is all a matter of perspective. BKH |

75-
Your video was well worth the 6 minutes. Congrats on keeping your kids (and wife) interested for so many years. You're obviously THE MAN! 6Strings- As Brian posted a link for the Ski Skimmer, I got mine at Overton's over the winter. I also picked up a barefoot boom, based on many testimonials from this site. I have installed the boom on my 79, but have not had a chance to use it. I pulled the kids with a Sea Doo. My 2 1/2 year old got up first and without that I don't think my 5 1/2 year old would have kept going. Right now, they're both so stoked to get back to the lake. I think I'll have them on trainer skis by the end of summer. -John |

Brian,
My daughter was the age of yours what seems like a few months ago. She graduates high school in two days and I'm sending her off to college in 3 months. I'm not really enjoying thinking about that. Enjoy every second of it...if flies by. Larry |

I know I've posted this before, and I know its a bit long, but what can I say, I'm a doting father. Maybe some of you missed it, and it does exemplify what you guys our talking about. Brian, enjoy your family AND your boat. The memories are priceless.

Todd,
Would love to meet your family. Unfortunately have other commitments this weekend. We'll get it done sometime this summer. Jmurph, nice looking family. Morfoot, let's see some pics of your kids behind the boat. Chris - Good looking kids. Will you be offering tube rides at GL? BKH |

Brian,
I couldn't agree more. My two 11 year olds are always itching to go kneeboarding ( started getting ancy in March) and once they are out there you 'd better prepare for a 30-45 min run as they NEVER get tired. One got so frustrated she cried when she couldn't get up on a wakeboard after kneeboarding for 45 min. KIDS LOVE THE WATER as much as Dad's and most Mom's do........ If I didn't know any better I'd say that kangaroo belongs in a Moomba, NOT a Nautique.. Ha ha |

[QUOTE=bkhallpass] Every time I read about a guy selling his boat because kids are on the way, or because "I just can't" use the boat since we had kids.....
QUOTE] These kids are part of the reason why we got our boats. I enjoy sharing these experiences with them. Grant's first ride. Memorial Day weekend 2007 Abbey and Reid preparing to ski for the first time. Both were successful with the Ski Skimmer. Pics to follow. |

Brian,
I couldn't agree more. Boats, kids, and parents are made for each other. As long as one takes the proper safety precautions a lifetime of great memories can be made. I was able to take a boat ride with my dad on Memorial Day; 50 years after my first ride with him. Your little girl is a jewel; it has to be a thrill to have her. I love the kangaroo. Chuck |

Every time I read about a guy selling his boat because kids are on the way, or because "I just can't" use the boat since we had kids, I feel sorry for him. Giving up something you love doing, and the kids will love doing as well, just seems such a shame to me. BKH

Brian,
They're both dolls! Wish we had our boat when our boys were that young. They were in their late teens when we got it, now 27 and 24. They were both snowboarders and picked up wakeboarding quickly and get out with us whenever they can. Anyway, now I have my 3 year old grandson and 1 year old granddaughter to enjoy with the boat too. It's a great life ain't it! |

BKH,
A spring get together sounds like a great idea ! We will have to discuss it further to work out the details, but you as the host with great Delta access and a knowledge of where to go for suds and snacks, I am definitely in on this action. Todd |

Todicus,
I've been thinking about having a gathering of the Norcal CCFans at my place in the spring. Maybe get out on the Delta in the boats, and have a barbecue at my house, or maybe do a little poker run to some of the restaurants and bars on the river. What do you think? BKH |

Munday, If you were going to do all that work you should at least have snuck in a boat ride.
Thanks for your comments all. When you're a first time parent, I think all the "firsts" are probably fun (at least until they're teenagers). BKH |
