Gareth, theres quite a difference. The stock prop for an '88 (1:1) is a 13x13, where the stock prop for a '89 (1.23:1) is a 14x16.

Thanks 8122 yeh I guess they must mean the packing stuff, they have also told me they have found a place in scotland that will custom make a prop shaft for me?! Do you think that sounds sensible (they have the bent one to go by) or should I just buy one from skidim.com or likewise.

I take it the 88 prop is the same as the 89 or does the different gearbox make a difference?

Cheers

Gareth

???? They must mean the packing in the stuffing box. There isn't another cutlass bearing. If it is the stuffing, I'd recommend the Goxtex. It is almost dripless.

Hi there

Thanks for that post 1969cc I got the one I needed. But know the marina say my prop shaft is bent so I need one of those, they also say I need a new front end cutlass bearing for where the shaft meets the hull. Do you know if this would be the same size as the one I have already purchased?

Cheers

Gareth

Check the link below. They list a 1" X 6" strut bushing.

If I'm not mistaken you should be able to substitute two smaller bearings instead.

Hi Guys - the marina have informed me that I need a Cutlass Bearing that has a 1" internal diameter but is 6" long...

Does anyone know what this is or where I would get one? They have tried UK based places but apparently they are usually 4" long so it is an unusual shape.

Any help very much appreciated, as this part is holding up getting our boat back ready for spring.

Cheers

Gareth
