63 Classic windshield wings???

My boat has the chromed pot metal bracket with the pivot holes but no wings or blade inserts. It looks to me like the ones in the picture have been "dreamed" up like I am trying not to do without seeing an actual original pair. See attached pic (actually I am going to try to attach a picbut never did before)and my red lines indicating how one side has a straight line and the other has a slight curve as if they just scroll sawed a couple pieces of lexan and slotted out acorn nuts or some other "too small to be strong enough, but good enough for ebay" attachement point to the clear material at the pivot points. It seems to me there needs to be some small metal channels with a pivot stud that are fixed to actual tempered glass blades or wings. I am hoping to make the pivots and get the glass baked, but not without getting a hold of an actual set for actual measurements and properties. Did all 63 classics come with the brackets? I wonder how many models/years used the same setup? So many questions.......

Ray, Though all the years that the wings were offered, to my knowledge they were all the same set up. I do know that they were not made by Taylor or any other winshield manufacturer. The pivot set up you describe is original and the weak point. One bump with a elbow and the parts are at the bottom of the lake! The actual wings are the easy part as they can be cut but any of the missing hardware needs to be fabricated up and most people don't have that capacity. Whatever you come up with (the channel sounds good) you should make several sets - I think people will be knocking on your door!!
