Bruce,
It's getting there. There's still a little bit of red where the trailer covered the hull. It'll be gone. But yes, you're right. Very hard to believe. The green is going to be a bear to remove. It's a flecked paint and has that grey primer that I love so much underneath. No major repairs though. I'm pleased. Chelle' |

I was thinking about you southern guys yesterday as I was out grilling in what was left of a little snow storm. If you've never lived up here in the winter, then you've never had the pleasure of digging a beer out of a snow bank. That is the best way to chill beer, especially after a day of spring skiing. You get back to the truck and your really parched, and you start digging through the snow for those beers you hid in the morning. |

Nice flip. That is pretty damned smart. I have heard of it but not seen pics.
You need to get a regular furnace or a radiant heater in there. It would have to make it more confortable and less fumey. For you guys in the south, 15cm. of SNOW today, and minus 20 tonight. We cannot do anything but work on our boats. Not using the standard US unit of measure for anything on this thread until it is in double digits. |

WoW, Been gone traveling for the holidays and now trying to get caught up at home and finally took a look to see how you are doing. Holy cow you have made a lot of progress. The small army of guys came in handy too. I think that's called the reserves.I should ask Blinky, he would know.
The yuk yel is going to look great. I am glad you stuck with it. At this rate you will be done in time for the regatta! I just got a cool idea, for the antique boat parade the kids can ski by the crowd in period correct swim wear and skis. The pilot in a white skippers cap. maybe blinky with a pipe in his mouth....HA! |

The deck is sanded, not polished. We'll go over it again after we're done gelling the bottom up to the rubrails. Food in the house, beer in the snow outside. Eric, I was going to reply to your comment, but HW did a fine job with that already. Chelle |

Wouldn't that be nice? Although the torpedo heater isn't plugged in very long and the garage is pretty well insulated, so it stays warm for a while before it needs heated again. Maybe down the road there's a radiant heater in store...we'll see how many more projects I come up with. ![]() |

Sanity,
WoW! Just read the entire thread! Sure beats studying for class! Your work is definitely inspiring as I will be going through the same process with a 70 skier here in the near future! I'm learning lots just by reading! Being at school limits my shop time. As for now I will have to follow your thread and wish I was home with the boat! Looks great! Lets see some more pics! |

We are doing the same thing on the wood boat right now. It does make a mess in a hurry, Id rather do about anything than sand at this point...Keep up the good work!

Michele- will you take the gell right down to the fibreglass? Do any of your advisers express concern about the new gell being too thick in some spots and prone to cracking or craising?
Glad to see your helper has gloves, mask and eye protection!!! |
