great reef oil spill

heard the news about the ship hitting the reef and letting tons of oil to the sea..it really sucks...
big man made natural dissaster..
hope they solve it soon and prevent it to became even a larger spill

It was a bulk coal carrier coming out of the Gladstone Port. It was way off course it appears as if they were taking a short cut to save time. Well, the fines and, I assume, some human decency keeps our mining industry comparatively safe. Certainly not enough so, but in 2008, China lost 6,995 miners in accidents. While Massey has a sketchy safety record, it is a dangerous business and the miners know that going in.
