I'm about to replace the leaking exhaust hose from my copper pipes to the transom exits flaps. Should this be fairly easy or is there something I should be aware of? Will the new ones seal right away with the hose clamps? Am I supposed to seal the metal thru-hull flange against the outside of the transom with some 5200 or just screw it in tight? Thanks for the tips... Kirk

Kirk,
I didn't had to remove my flange but one of them was leaking so I sealed it with 4200. The hoses are tought, PITA. To get it out just cut the old one with a hack saw or dremell. I pretty much had to put mine at both ends and jump on top until they went in into the bilge. That was it for me. Soapy water helped. I used two hose clamps on each end. |
